ExperienceI am a tutor with professional teaching experience. I have spent the past seven years working as a Spanish teacher. Previous to that, I taught ESL. I have the skill set to tutor students in a variety of subjects, including Italian, Spanish, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Spanish 4, algebra, math, biology, science, AP Spanish, languages, reading, high school writing, study skills, and organization skills. I particularly enjoy tutoring students in language and grammar, since I have experience teaching both English and Spanish. I specialize in adapting my tutoring sessions to each individual I work with, and use my knowledge in differentiation as the basis for these adaptations. My own academic journey led me to earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in Spanish language, culture, and literature of Latin America and Spain. I went on to acquire a master's degree in secondary education curriculum and instruction with a specialization on learning a second language. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and get a lot of joy from teaching. I find that the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing students make connections between the current material and material they've already mastered. I currently live in Greenbelt, Maryland. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, foreign movies, and traveling.
